Take a Look Inside The Cabin

You are sure to enjoy the rustic decor and warmth our full log cabin provides.
Taccoa River front Resturant

If you are looking for a great place to relax and have a glass of wine by the river, Tocca River Front Restaurant is that place. We go out to several restaurants while in Blue Ridge, but this one is my favorite. Nestled next to the river, Tocca riverside has a small seating area where you can relax with a bottle of wine while waiting for the dinner hour! The secluded restaurant offers local trout dishes that are outstanding .They prepare the trout in many different ways, from crab stuffed and pecan crusted to smoked. My favorite is the smoked trout, paired with their corn fritters and spinach mushroom sauté. All their trout comes in from the local rivers, brought in daily. My husband enjoys their burgers as well, so they have something for everyone. The atmosphere is laid back and a casual attire is welcomed. They do however have white lines, which is nice. Your food is not served in a basket here! The small lodge can host a party, the last time we were there; there was a bridal shower underway. I could definitely see having a family event on the deck, overlooking the river. They even offer a River Rat club you can join to earn dinning points to add up for rewards. I hope it is for free peanut butter pie. The drive out to the restaurant will take about 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. It follows Aska Road for 8 miles. Winding down the mountain road next to the river, be sure to look for deer as we often see a lot on this road. I enjoy coming to the restaurant in the evening when the river is clam and there are not a lot of visitors. The restaurant is not far from the Aska wilderness adventure area. So plenty to do around there if you make a day trip out of it. Many trails to hike, water falls to find and jeep trailing, just to name a few. I have not brought my kids yet, but I feel like they would love taking pictures in the giant happy chair that is out by the river. I have yet to enjoy the menu at lunchtime, but I am sure it would be great. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, like most local places around here. I have to not forget the dessert menu; however, I only ever get the peanut butter pie… It is amazing! They also have a good-looking key lime pie and some chocolate goodies. On your way out, be sure to check out the jars of old fashion candy they sell. Things like root beer barrels and chick-o, remember them? Taccoa River front Restaurant The restaurant burnt down in 2012 one evening, no one was hurt. The owners, I was told, woke up the next day and started renovating and where back open exactly 365 days later! No time to waste, they know they have an amazing piece of property, awesome local fish and a following of smoked trout lovers. The small bar in the restaurant does not serve beer or wine on Sundays, so be prepared for that. They do however; feature local wines and ciders form Mericer orchard and local wineries. Like I Said before, grab a bottle of wine and enjoy the river out back next to the fire pit. Walk out to the end of the dock and maybe see a local fly-fishing for his trout.
