Specialties You can't find back home
Have you ever tried humming bird cake? Well they do it right at Mercier. Its amazing southern cake filled with bananas, coconut, pecan and pineapple. If that is not enough, they cover the whole thing in a sweet cream cheese icing that is to die for. They also make their own candies, truffles, brittles, buckeyes and much more. Did I mention the pies? They sell millions a year; yes, that is a lot of fruit. They have regular sized pies, but for those who want just a piece they offer hand pies! Small fried pies you can nibble on as you walk through the rows of apple trees or they are happy to box them up for later. They have so many flavors to choice from But I must say, SWEET POTATOE! No joke, the best hand pie around. If donuts are your thing, as they are my families. Then, welcome to heaven…. The minute you walk through the door you are greeted with the amazing aroma of the fresh apple cider donuts being fried. I have seen people almost pass out on first bite, really. They also have GIANT apple and pecan fritters, I have to take back several to family when I visit the orchard.
Oh, I did not mention the cider and apple tasting bar in the back, filled with apples and ciders that fill the farm. That way you can taste before you purchase, but try the pink lady, they are the best, well I think!
